(For more information on plagiarism, see Acknowledging the Work of Others, p.18).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Receiving unauthorized help in writing the paper, including deciding on paper topic, drawing conclusions, analyzing data, etc. or not giving credit to another for these contributions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Using the same paper for two courses without explicit permission having been given by faculty in both courses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Giving unauthorized assistance to another student writing a paper.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In Research\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fabricating data in support of laboratory or fieldwork.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sabotaging other student\u2019s research.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stealing other student\u2019s research ideas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Taking credit for work not done by oneself, or not giving credit to those who have assisted in one\u2019s work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hoarding materials or equipment to advance one\u2019s own research at the expense of others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Using unauthorized materials or equipment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the Library\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Stealing materials from the library.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not returning materials promptly when asked to do so.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hoarding scarce copies of materials needed by others in order to advance one\u2019s own position.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deliberately damaging library materials, e.g., cutting pages out of books or magazines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Helping another student steal, hoard, and\/or damage library materials.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In Academic Records\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Forging signatures on petitions to add\/drop a course after the final date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Falsifying letters of recommendation to graduate schools.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Forging signatures on certifications of completed course work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Misrepresenting one\u2019s academic accomplishments.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In Using Computers or Network Systems (For supporting voice or data communications systems)\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Accessing, or attempting to access, another individual\u2019s or entity\u2019s data or information without proper authorization regardless of the means by which this is accomplished. It is also a violation to give another individual the means with which to access such data or information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supplying, or attempting to supply, false or misleading information or identification in order to access computers or network systems, or to access data or information stored in or transmitted across computers or network systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improperly obtaining another\u2019s password; or improperly obtaining or using another\u2019s password to access computers or network systems, or to access data or information stored in or transmitted across computers or network systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inspecting, modifying, distributing, or copying proprietary data or software without proper authorization.
